Tsum Valley Trek has a certain aspect of mystery apart from the waves of adventure on it. The trek aims to explore the many myths of the revered Manaslu region and learn more about this Tibetan-influenced land. This trek takes you through the ancient Tibetan settlements.

The 20-day trip starts with a quick sightseeing tour of the major UNESCO World heritage sites of the Kathmandu Day Tour, which are filled with culture and traditions. After completing the legal formalities, we shall head out to Arughat via the Prithvi Highway. As we walk on the banks of the Arkhet Khola, we head towards Soti Khola.

From here, the trail crosses the Gurung village of Lapubesi and then stops at Machha Khola before reaching Jagat. Passing Philim on the way along the Budhi Gandaki River, you reach Chisopani. As we admire the magnificent views of Himalchuli (7893m), we reach Chumling village. Spend some time here and then walk along the Lungwa Khola to reach Chhokang Paro.

We now enter the desolate parts of the Tsum valley Trek and the terrain here closely resembles Tibet. Head along the Siyar Khola and spend the night at the Tibetan village of the Nile. From here, head out to the Mu Gompa, which is an important landmark in this region.

After visiting the Mu Gompa, make your way down through the small villages like Burgi and Chumling. The trail provides an amazing view of the Poshyop glacier, Kipu Himal, and Churke Himal. Continue moving downward to Philim, Soti Khola, and to Arughat. From here, you drive back to Kathmandu, where this trek shall end.

You will enter Nepal along with the views of the Himalayas. You will land at the Tribhuvan International Airport where our representative will welcome you. Exiting the airport, you will drive all the way to your hotel. You can head out to explore the attractions in the valley or choose to rest. We will host you a welcome dinner at the end of the day.

Today we shall explore the major UNESCO world heritage sites inside the Kathmandu Valley which include Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath. These sites are of great religious and cultural importance to the Hindus and Buddhists alike. After lunch, head out to visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. After the completion of the tour, we hold a brief meeting to discuss the details on the trek. Overnight in Kathmandu.

The road for the day takes us along the western mountains of Dhading Bensi today. Following the Prithvi Highway for most parts of the trek, we pass numerous settlements and beautiful landscapes on the way. The dirt road continues until we reach Arughat. It is a major town which sits right beside the Budi Gandaki River. You can see many people here who are on the road to Manaslu. Overnight in Arughat Bazar.

We shall walk on the stone paved paths and head to the northern parts of Arughat Bazaar. We can see a hydropower plant and fields of millet on the trek to Mangaltar. As we walk on the Budi Gandaki valley, the trail becomes steep and we shall cross the Arkhet Khola to arrive at Arkhet Bazaar. Descend further to arrive at Soti Khola. Overnight in Soti Khola.

Walk on a ridge as you observe the roaring rapids of Budi Gandaki River. Make your way through the tropical waterfalls and rice terraces before arriving at the Gurung village of Lapubesi. There is a rocky outcrop too which later opens up the Budi Gandaki Valley. The trail later leads to sandy river beds and later stops at Machha Khola. Overnight in Machha Khola.

From Machha Khola, the trail crosses Tharo Khola until we reach Khorlabesi. As you move further, you’ll be welcomed by the Tatopani hot springs. Rest for a while here and then climb on a well-crafted staircase leading to Dobhan. It is a steep climb across the Yaru Khola and Tharo Bharyang to reach Jagat. Jagat is a small village that comprises mostly ofteahouses and small lodges. Overnight in Jagat.

At Jagat, we shall complete the legal formalities that are related to the Manaslu Conservation Area. Climb a short ridge that leads to Salleri which later descends to Sirdibas. The elevated terrain gives you a display of the Ghatta Khola. After we cross it, we reach Philim. It is a Gurung village and we shall have our lunch here. Walk for about 2 hours and arrive at Chisapani. Overnight in Chisapani.

From Ekle Bhatti, we will cross the gorge which later provides a picturesque display of pine trees and waterfalls. Walk through the Tsum valley and admire mountains like Himalchuli (7893m) and Boudha Himal (6672m). Walk along the Lungwa Khola and cross rhododendron forests to finally arrive at Chumling. It sits on a hilly outcrop and is inhabited by the Gurung and Tamang ethnic communities. Overnight in Chumling.

Cross the suspension bridges on the route to Chhokang Paro. The route gives an amazing view of the Ganesh Himal. Navigate through Rainjam and across the Siyar Khola to reach Gho village. As we move deep into the Tsum Valley, we arrive at the Chhokang Paro village. This is a great vantage point to observe views of Ganesh Himal (7422m) and Himalchuli (7893m). Overnight in Chhokang Paro.

The trail sees a sudden increase in elevation from now. Walk across Lamagaon and visit the Rachen Gompa which is an important monastery in the Tsum region. Cross the Siyar Khola and take a breather as you trek through Lar, Phurbe, and Pangdun villages. On the road to Chule, we can also visit a Tibetan Buddhist stupa. From here, a steep climb takes you the sparsely populated village of Nile. Overnight in the Nile.

We shall visit the most revered site in the Tsum valley today. This monastery is called the Mu Gompa. This Gompa lies close to the Tibetan border. We can see the Tibetan landscape too. From the vicinity of Mu Gompa, we can get a picturesque view of the landscape engulfing Tibet and Nepal. We will later visit the Dephu Doma Gompa nearby the Mu Gompa. Overnight in Mu Gompa.

Today we won’t do any sort of hiking but rather we shall spend the day acclimatizing. We will explore the Mu Gompa and interact with the people and locals residing here. We will learn about their culture and traditions too. We can also learn about the history and significance of the monastery upon the lives of the people here. Spend the day by tasting the local cuisine as well. Overnight in Mu Gompa.

From the Mu Gompa, we shall make our way back through the villages like Chhule and Phurbe. These villages reside on the eastern side of the Siyar Khola. After walking for about 5 hours, we arrive at the Burgi village. This small village is inhabited by the Gurung and Tibetan people. From here, you can climb the Milarepa Cave which provides surreal views of the Poshyop glacier, Kipu Himal, and the Churke Himal ranges. Overnight in Burgi village.

The trail to Chumling takes you along the greenery of nature and down to Chhokang Paro. The trail continues to see a decrease in altitude. We will take a quick break at Gho village. Navigate further before reaching the bridge that crosses the Sarpu Khola. As you walk along with the lower parts of the Tsum valley, we shall reach Chumling again. Overnight in Chumling.

The road heads towards Lokpa. As we have our lunch, we continue to move ahead. The trail greets us with a picturesque display of Samba falls. We again arrive at Philim after walking for 6 hours. Philim is a stopping point for those on the road to Ganesh Himal Base Camp.

The road to Khorlabesi takes us through Jagat and Tatopani. There is a lot of downward climbing involved today. As we descend the stairs, we are welcomed by green vegetation. We shall relax at the natural hot springs at Tatopani and then continue the walk until we reach Khorlabesi. Khorlabesi is a lively settlement and is a small trade hub. Overnight in Khorlabesi.

We shall retrace our steps back to Soti Khola today. This involves walking through the Gurung village of Lapubesi and walking on steep rocky cliffs. Walk on a ridge and cross Sal forests to finally reach Soti Khola. The roaring rapids of the Soti Khola are a soothing sight after walking for so long. Overnight in Soti Khola.

We need to climb a ridge that takes to Kuerepani which later heads down the waterfall. Cross the Arkhet Khola and arrive at Shanti Bazaar. Have a delicious lunch here and walk on the stone-paved streets to finally arrive at Arughat. Here, you can-do last-minute shopping for souvenirs. Overnight in Soti Khola.

From Arughat Bazaar, we shall make our way back to Kathmandu. The road goes along the Prithvi Highway and it shows you the beauty along the meandering roads of Nepal. We can see green hills and follow the Trishuli River as we head to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel. At night, the company will host you a farewell dinner.Overnight in Kathmandu.
