Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

You will enter Nepal along with the views of the Himalayas. You will land at the Tribhuwan International Airport where our representative will welcome you. Exiting the airport, you will drive all the way to your hotel. You can head out to explore the attractions in the valley or choose to rest. In the evening, you will participate in a welcome dinner hosted by the Ace Vision Treks & Tours (P) LTD. Overnight in Kathmandu.

We start our day with an early morning tour to Swayambhunath. The Buddhist heritage sits in the northwestern corner of the valley and offers a brilliant depiction of Buddhist influence in Kathmandu. Next, we head to the Kathmandu Durbar Square and observe the majesty of Nepali art and architecture. The tour then heads to Pashupatinath and concludes with a tour to Boudanath. All of these destinations are UNESCO world heritage sites and capture the heart and soul of the valley.

Today, we drive early morning from Kathmandu to Pokhara along the Mugling- Narayanghat Highway. We can watch the beautiful paddy fields and Trishuli River as we pass through Mugling and follow the road to Pokhara via Dumre. We stop for tea and lunch breaks on the way. After reaching Pokhara, we take a short walk around Phewa Lake and enjoy boating till evening.

The next day, we drive to Nayapul which is the starting point of many treks in the Annapurna region. The drive is comfortable and passes a number of settlements on the way. The trek starts from an uphill climb gradually moving upwards. We pass many suspension bridges, waterfalls, forests, and villages before reaching Ulleri. Overnight in Ulleri.

On this day, we start our walk early after breakfast. We walk mostly through rhododendron forest with many different varieties of rhododendrons. The sound of the stream flowing by the side of the trail with trees more than a hundred years old, add great values to the forest. Ghorepani is Gurung village with many guest-houses and lies just below the Poon hill. Overnight in Ghorepani.

An early morning hike to the hilltop of Poonhill will take us to the view tower at the top. At the altitude of 3210 m, Poonhill offers spectacular mountain views. From Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges along with Machhapuchhre (6997m), Lamjung Himal (6983m), Gangapurna (7454m), Himchuli (6441m) and many more. When the sun hits the first beam of light on top of the mountains, the sight is pure bliss. From Poonhill, we trek back down, have our breakfast, and continue our trek to Tadapani. Passing through lusty forests and constantly walking up and down we reach Tadapani. Overnight in Tadapani.

The trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk is an easy one. Covering the distance of 6.5kms, this part of the trail is common in many other treks around Annapurna. We descend through dense forests but the view is uninterrupted. Gurung villages on the front and roaring Himalayas on the back make a great picture. After passing Bhaisi Kharka we reach to the point called Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a popular picturesque and pristine village in the lap of Himalayas. Overnight in Ghandruk.

The walk today from Ghandruk to Birethanti is about 5 hrs. Descending all the way through villages like Kimche and Syaule Bazaar. We walk over flatlands mostly from here and continue south towards Nayapul. From Nayapul, we drive to Pokhara. Enjoy the nightlife of Pokhara at the bars, pubs, and restaurants of all kinds.

We wave our goodbyes to the beautiful city of Pokhara and drive to Kathmandu early in the morning. Enjoying the views of forests, villages, hills, and rivers we head back through the Mugling- Naubise road to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, we can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city.
