Tsum Valley Trek

The Tsum Valley trekking takes visitors to the hidden and isolated valley, which means “vivid,” and is home to the direct descendant Tibetan people known as Tsumbas. Remote Tsum Valley Trek is located east of the Manaslu conservation area, on the Tibetan border. This remote and hidden Shangri-La only recently opened to trekkers in 2008.
It is still relatively unexplored, with ancient villages and Tibetan Buddhist monasteries awaiting discovery. Each day, you will walk for 5-8 hours, with the highest point of the trek being 3700m above Mu Gompa, the largest of the valley’s monasteries. On this trek, you will be staying in lodges and traditional ‘homestays’ rather than tents.
